There are six drivers of the heist. A political coalition created the legal and political environment that supported the heist for over 50 years (discussed in the previous section).
This led to five structural changes:
- Monopolization of the economy
- Globalization
- Decline in unionization in the US
- Growth of the finance sector
- Financialization of corporations
